(Our joy in uncertainty comes from our certainty in God’s character) 나눔 질문: 1. 1.Fixing our eyes on Jesus!

Christian Joy (4) He Will Judge the World in Righteousness (Psalm 96:13) 2026-10-11보기

Christian Joy (4) “He Will Judge the World in Righteousness” Psalm 96:13 Psalms 95–100 are classified as praise psalms, and the central theme that runs throughout these psalms is “the LORD God’s kingship.” The psalm writers praise the LORD God as Creator and King. They also rejoice with hope in God, the King who judges the world with righteousness and justice and will restore a world corrupted by sin. This joy does not come from favorable circumstances in which the problems of life have been resolved. Rather, it comes from the certainty of the future that God, our King, will ultimately execute righteous judgment and bring about complete restoration, even while injustice and suffering still exist. The psalm writers trusted God and rejoiced in hope, based on His faithful character and deeds demonstrated through the deliverance of His people from Egypt. Jesus promised that He would return in the future to execute righteous judgment and completely restore everything that has been corrupted and broken because of sin. We, too, experience pain and suffering because of one another’s wickedness and weaknesses, and we face limitations that we cannot overcome through our own strength and determination. In these uncertain circumstances, we must respond to the grace that leads to longing for the Lord by holding firmly to His promises and choosing to trust Him. During this process, the Holy Spirit trains us through seasons of waiting and surrender and gives us the strength to persevere in faith. And we find joy in hope as we trust the Lord, based on the character and deeds of Jesus, who died on the cross for us and became the first fruits of the resurrection. 1. Our joy in uncertainty comes from our trust in God’s character. Discussion Questions 1. During uncertainty, rather than denying our pain or relying on vague optimism, let us share about God’s character or His Word that we are holding onto right now. 2. When we experience pain, suffering, or injustice, or face limitations that we cannot overcome through our own strength and determination, where (or to whom) do we turn first? Have you experienced a time when, after surrendering your emotions and expectations to the Lord, He worked according to His will and ways rather than simply changing your own plans or circumstances? If there is something you need to entrust to the Lord and make a decision about right now, let us share it with one another. Application 1. Fixing our eyes on Jesus! (Hebrews 12:2) As you look to the Lord who shapes our faith, may you spend this week listening more attentively to His Word and holding firmly to it. May you richly experience and enjoy the gifts of joy that spring up from deep within and the abundant comfort He provides. 2. May you depend on the Holy Spirit, who gives us the strength and hope to persevere in every circumstance as you come before the Lord in prayer. As you commit to trusting the Lord who leads you to the harbor of joy, may each season of life He grants you become a time filled with His story.
